Elves are similar to those found in most modern fantasy settings: long lived, elegant, and magical. There are three types of elves: Mountain Elves (or High), Wood Elves, and Coastal Elves. (Dark Elves or Drow and Sea Elves also exist but are different enough to be detailed on their own.) All of the elvish races can freely interbreed with regular chances of conception. Most of the differences between the various groups are cultural but there are a few physical differences as well. All elves maintain good relations with Dragons. Recorded history relates several occasions where elves have ridden dragons into battle, providing magical protection for their mounts. It should not be a surprise that anywhere there is a large elvish city there are also dragons or some sort of Dragon Kin, including Sea Dragons, Wild Dragons, and so on. Notwithstanding these good relations with some dragons, others have historically been amongst the worst of elvish enemies. Elves have had little contact with Reptile Men as they were a fallen race long before elves came on the scene. Not surprising, something has kept elves from discovering that which lies deep within the Great Desert.
